Attic: Media area sofa

Front view of the sofa I made for the media area. My daughter tells me that's a guinea pig, but when you dress 'em up they all look like hamsters to me. ;)

(The previous photo shows the color of the sofa better, unfortunately. Darn camera.)

Thanks! We wanted a sofa that seemed like grandma's castoff, since it's just going up in the attic media room.

I did it in a dark brown leather (back and sides) and this woven wool that I think was intended for women's suit jackets, the kind where they fray the edges these days and call that "trendy." (Actually I think the trend is a couple of years old and probably gone from department stores, but it's still in the fabric stores.)

In mini it just looked soooo hand-me-down, 1960s or early 70s Herculon sofa yuck. Definitely not from your cool grandma. My kid hated it and I thought that would be perfect, ha ha!! But when I had it all finished, it turned out so cute that my kid changed her mind and said it was way *too* hip for the story we were telling. And it is! But there it stays. I guess this mini-family's grandma is cool after all. :)
