Something to consider is how many viewpoints the actual area will have. If the visual is decidedly a single point, it is a more important decision than if it will be viewed from multiple directions. Many viewing points will ultimately reproduce all of the possible scenario layouts you offered. Not sure if I'm making myself understandable.

Nope, I understand what you're saying. The main view is from the back (natural opening of lighthouse). The small doorway into the Magnolia will probably have some kind of swing door or beaded curtain. The main front door of the lighthouse will be closed (I'm too scared to try hinging anything!).
