Started the painting of all the window pieces. Here you see the frames and sliders. White on the main part and baby blue (that you can't hardly see) on the very inside edge. The backsides (interior sides) will also be white. Note to newbies: do not paint the horizontal edges of these pieces. You will be inserting these pieces into a two channcel window frame. They need to be able to slide up and down (you are making working windows here). If you paint those horizontal edges, the paint will prevent the pieces from sliding up and down easily. You will most likely even have to sand down the horizontal edges of each piece to insure they go up and down easily. I will post pictures of that when I get to it.

Also here you can see the painted pieces to the two fireplace fronts. I painted the back pieces a blue-gray and the front pieces white. Avoid painting areas that will need to have glue applied to sandwich the two pieces together.

I also finished glueing down the hardwood flooring strips. Stayed cemented down better than the last floor I did with these cheap strips of wood! This time, I painted the rubber cement all over the floor and let it dry thoroughly. Then, as I cut the strips of wood to fit and applied rubber cement to the strip, I was generous with the rubber cement, especially on each end, and I let the cement dry before laying it down on the floor. Then I rubbed it down well with my hand...you could use anything to rub it down well....the butt end of a table knife, a brayer. Rubbing each piece down helps it adhere to the cement on the floor. Even so, I had one strip that popped up while I was sanding.

So, let the rubber cement dry overnight (or two nights even), then sand the heck out of it, until it feels like a sheet of glass when you run your hand over the floor. You shouldn't be able to feel any ridges between strips of wood. Next I will apply a coat of verathane, let it dry overnight, lightly sand, apply another coat of verathane and see how it looks.
