Well we're still waiting for the gourd glue to finish drying so that I can paint. Decided to take a little time to create a spooky tree for the gourdyard :whistle:

Took some likely looking twigs from a branch that fell from one of my maples. Tied them all together with a large rubber band -- the kind that comes on produce -- trimmed them up and covered with clay. Got a kind of nasty looking face on the trunk and voila -- a haunted maple :) He's currently drying and unpainted, but this is how he turned out.

The paint needs to match from the trunk up into the branches, so some of the branches will be blended into the trunk with paint.

Here he is with the first wash of burnt umber.
