Making Mini-Towels
I thought I would blog how I made my mini-towels because it was so simple and will save you a ton of money if you're so inclined!
I started with a Microfiber cloth that I bought at WalMart for $1. You can use whatever fabric you like as long as it is thin enough so that your towel will lay relatively flat. For example you can use felt or muslin.
I then cut the cloth into strips measuring 70 X 130 cm for the bath towels and 50 X 70 cm for the hand towels.
Then it's simply a matter of folding and gluing. Start by folding over 1/3 of the towel lengthwise and gluing the edge in place.
Then fold over the other 1/3, overlapping the first fold by about 1/4 inch, and gluing that in place.
Next, fold over the towel by 1/3 and glue it in place.
Then fold the remaining 1/3 over the first fold and glue that in place.
You now have a finished towel ready for your choice of embellishment (or not)!
For a 'hanging' towel, simply fold the towel in half a little off-center (so that the front bottom edge is a little longer than the back bottom edge) and hang over a rod or over the edge of your tub!
And there you have it . . . an assortment of beautiful towels and hand towels ready for you to enjoy in your mini-bath!
