I finished scribing the "floorboards" and punching the nailholes and stained them maple. They look nice. While the stain was still tacky I put on a coat of lacquer & when it's all dry I'll "sand" it with a brown paper bag to see how I like it.blog-242-1127864851_thumb.jpgNext I sat down with the schematic sheet and the roll of masking tape and marked each piece. Tedious? Absolutely, but I found some things to make notes about and to familiarize myself with the parts & where they are.First, I noticed that the roof parts are not labeled "roof", they appear to be "gables".Second, there are corner trim pieces that are MUCH shorter on the plywood sheet than indicated in the schematic drawing.Third (and I hope finally), the box photo shows a chimney. On the schematic there are no parts labeled "chimney", there are chimney-ish bits that bear only numbers. Of course, where the chimney occurs there seems to be no fireplace, so one of my bashes may be to finally make my first chimneybreast & fireplace. HmmmNow I'm priming the surfaces I either want to paint or wallpaper (or, in the case of the non-wood floors, tile). I have masked off the steps and risers because I want to stain them and the handrails walnut. Everything else (backside of trim pieces, underside of the house) will get a coat of clear sanding sealer and then I'll be ready to begin assembly.blog-242-1127864949_thumb.jpg blog-242-1127865975_thumb.jpgcomplements of havanaholly
