Out of Bricks

I'm nearly out of bricks, but I have lots of areas that still need covering. If that wasn't bad enough, I don't have the budget to order more for at least a few months. I have mapped the location for the utility building (which also needs bricks) and I'm nearly finished with the narrow brick wall that will be an anchoring point for the covered archway that connects to the utility building. The unique features of the utility building will be a hinged wall and the bricks won't be attached to a wood panel like all of my other brick work. Instead I'll use a 1/8" board running the length of each wall glued to the tops of each run of bricks. This will allow a 1/16" space for mortar on each side and hopefully hold the walls together until the mortar dries. This way, the bricks will be visible from both the exterior and interior. The interior will have exposed framing, so all of the contruction features will be visible. I'm even running conduits to the working light and recepticles in the building.

I was able to install the kitchen base (also covered with bricks) but the front steps won't go in until the 1st floor deck is installed. The basement plug recepticles connect to the rest of the house behind the steps. I'm also deliberating over whether to install the deck ASAP or build out the entire 1st floor before attaching the deck to the basement. Mobility makes working on the house much easier since my "workshop" is a spare bedroom being used for storage and my kids need constant supervision. Either way, I'm no longer crunched for time since the Ocala show won't have any room for displays this year.

I have included a few pics of the construction of the turret foundation:
