Dry fit

Got a couple pictures of my dry fit.

I've been spending hours looking around the internet for various components to decorate with, such as columns. I decided it would be nice to have a bit more of a entrance way, so am looking into maybe creating a georgian looking balcony above the front door, supported by columns. But my house is developing the need for quite a few columns, so am looking into ways of getting these cheaply. Maybe making a mould and doing plaster casts, and will check at the diy store if they have suitably sized wood columns.

Looking online about how to make moulds. I think getting the original around which to make the mould would be the best idea, then maybe use latex to make the mould and plaster to cast it. Hmm, still requires some thought. Might try to make an original myself...

Have to figure out how to do the downstairs staircase next. Would like one that gets wider towards the bottom and idealy curves out either side, but can't seem to find any online to buy. so would have to make one. With that the main problem is getting the curving banister. Could do a chain one or something like that, but not very georgian, so think I'll have to continue looking. I have found curving staircases, but the width of the steps doesn't change. Not sure if it would be possible to use those banisters and maybe turn one around to make it curve the other way. Only works if they are the same though.

Got some books from the library to look at georgian features to get some ideas.
