Burnt Umber wash The Pierce Entry posted by Minis On The Edge May 4, 2007 1,121 views Share
 Followers 0 I added a Burnt Umber wash over EVERYTHING (Shingles & Stone) and wanted you to see what it looks like with that added. This blends all of the colors together:
whippet-gal 2 Posted May 4, 2007 This wash has made quite a subtle difference to your last photos, but how effective! I was surprised to see you fitted the windows so early on, as you're having to carefully paint round them. I'd love to know what the reason is for doing it this way. Another masterpiece in the making, Tracy Jackie Quote Link to comment
Minis On The Edge 1,047 Posted May 4, 2007 Thanks for your Nice comment!! The color washes are VERY drippy since they are more water than paint. Because I wallpapered on the inside already, I decided to add the windows to help protect the wallpaper. Sometimes I do it early on because if the color washes get on the window frames outside, it helps with the aged appearance of the house. It makes the entire house look "weathered" because of the subtle washes but, for some strange reason, I did NOT get any washes on the windows so I only have a little bit of touch up to do. What a good idea . Thanks, Tracy. You ought to write a book! Jackie Quote Link to comment
