Roofing

Boy, I didn't realize how far behind I've gotten on blogging this. Ok the roof, I finally decided to try something totally different than I've tried before. I brought out my handy dandy pasta maker and run my clay through it real thin blogentry-70-1174961222_thumb.jpg My original intention was to try and duplicate bark. So I would layer the thin rolled out clay not worrying to much about the shape, bark comes in different shapes and thickness. blogentry-70-1174961328_thumb.jpg then with a brush, I stipled it to give it a rough texture and then with a mixture of watered down black and gray paint, and a sponge brush I added color. blogentry-70-1174961442_thumb.jpgblogentry-70-1174961462_thumb.jpg The next step was to randomly place it on the roof blogentry-70-1174961515_thumb.jpg I ordered some spanish moss and started glueing it on in the blank spaces.blogentry-70-1174961601_thumb.jpg So now the WO has a mossy roof and I really like the effect. blogentry-70-1174961728_thumb.jpgblogentry-70-1174961753_thumb.jpgblogentry-70-1174961770_thumb.jpg

Notice, I'm also going to try for the first time to make a presentable base and try my hand a landscaping. The green base you see in the picture is a piece of construction foamboard spray painted green. So flowers and such hopefully in the very near future.

This was all actually done in January, then real life events have kept me away for awhile, but this past week, I've managed to make some furniture for the living room and kitchen. Pictures will follow once I've manage to get them loaded on the computer.
