Progress as of January 29, 2007
I've been doing little bits here and there, but took the whole of last Friday to spend working on my Willowcrest. I made quite a lot of progress!
I finished carpeting the staircase and installed it.
Then I installed the right wall and kitchen bump out.
After that was done I was able to move up to the roof. I installed the main roof cornices and the barrel vault at the front sides and the mansard roof supports. Then I installed the mansard roof. This went in fairly easy, but caused me the most stress!
I then installed the dormer walls and roofs.
After all that it was just a matter of installing the four roof sections and the main front trim and voila' the exterior shell is complete!
I've also been working diligently on the interior. I finished wallpapering the bath and kitchen and installed tile flooring in the bath and walnut flooring in the kitchen. I also permanently installed the French door and added the crystal knobs . . . they're so pretty!
I added the extra window on this side of the house. I wanted the bath to have a window . . . I need the light!
Well, that about brings me up-to-date! I'll be concentrating my efforts on the exterior now starting with the porch. I've started on the parquet floor in the ballet studio, but I'll do a separate entry for that. It's a story all on its own!
