Willowcrest as of 01/03/2007
I've been working steadily on the Willowcrest for several days now, but am at the point where I NEED the lighting and wallpaper. In the meantime, I'm painting and staining trim . . . it needs to be done sooner or later anyway! I also need to get some primer on the walls. I've already papered the ceilings with textured anaglypta paper. I'm deciding whether or not to paint it though.
I've finished the main staircase. I'm going to paint some kind of mural on the white parts (Brian's suggestion). He figures it needed to be lightened up a bit. I'm hoping to get inspiration from the wallpaper I've ordered.
I also installed a French door between the kitchen and dining room/parlor. It adds a bit of savoir fare!
The bay window on the left side of the house is complete. I have to wait, again for wallpaper, to complete the one on the right side because I want to wallpaper before installing the stairs, which I have to do before completing that window.
And here is a picture of my lovely workstation with the sun shining in through the kitchen windows. I love working here!
Oh, I had a visitor today . . . the owner of the house stopped by. Her name is 'Miss Riaboushka'. She is a retired Russian Prima Ballerina and ballet teacher extraordinaire! Here she's checking out what will be her studio.
The interior trim is painted and, surprise, surprise, I'm waiting for wallpaper!
Tomorrow I'm going to prime the walls and run my tapewire. I've got the feeling I didn't order enough lights . . . there are some areas I want lit that I didn't think of before, like the bathroom, the front foyer and the second floor foyer . . . darn!
