Well the Statue Tower has been painted and the statues have been added. Some additional painting is still needed and I have to craft a small doe for one statue, but I am pleased with the way it is turning out. I included some pictures for you to see. I have also included a picture of the sconces created for me by Judy Andrakas (Acorns by Oak) I am really pleased with the way they turned out.
For some time I have been trying to figure out how to create the two doors shown in the movie FOTR. One is just to the left of the set and is surrounded by a wooden door frame. The other is located in the center area of the set below the Narsil statue and is observed during the council scene when Merry and Pippin are spying on the council and spring out to demand to accompany Frodo on the Fellowship trek. It is surrounded by a stone framework.
My final approach was to layer a cut
It has been a long time since my last entry but I have not given up. I finally got started on the statue tower and the first statue is now sculpted. I used a 1:24 doll set and paper clay to form the base figure. When it is dry, it will be finished in a stone finish. There will be four when all are finished and then they have to be mounted in the stonework frame of the tower.
Began actual construction of the statue tower. The panels are cut and fitted together and all set in place. As soon as the glue is dried, will start on the paperclay stonework. It is shaping up pretty well!!!!
